It's prefered to buy a crawfish from a petstore, that has lived in the freshwater enviroment of a tank. The creek water is much different than the water in your tank. Not to mention, the crawdad will consider your fish as his next meal. Only time I've ever kept a creek crawdad was when the tank I had, was full of the creekwater. (I had 2 turtles, a bullfrog, minnows and a ghost shrimp, all from the same waters).

maybe i dont know but you might just want to use some of the water from the creek to put the crawdad in!

They do better in their creek. If you had them in a tank by themselves and have proper food they should do fine.
