He is actually progressing in his speech and communicates fairly well. He actually cracks me up all the time. I hug and kiss him a lot. Just wondered if anyone has any experience.

I have worked in a public school in Florida for 11 years. We have autistic, downs syndrome and many other children with different disabilities. I think you should read as much as you can get your hands on about autism. There are many different levels of autism. I think the main problem I have seen through the years with most of these children's parent is that they think, autistic children is beyond disipline. not true. they can learn proper behavior, however the time frame will be much longer, than with your typical child. REPUTITION ,time and lots and lots of patience, will be your friend. God bless you this will not be an easy road. but hang in there. I love these children. they are super special!
