tutoring would be a great option. You can see as many or few kids you want. You make the schedule and fee's. Then take it from there. You will still get paid and still do what you were trained to do. If you are looking to leave the filed all together then you need to do research, soul searching, and patience to get the necessary training .

first think what subject and domain u are good at. take up a job which pays you the same amount in your cherished domain. start workin in that domain before quitting as a teacher as if may be hard to switch all of once into another path. if you are a good speaker , try for some thing where there is a need of a good explainantion abilities and presentation skills. teachers would be good in expressing things to the listeners requirements. i am a assistant professor and im also doing the same. keep in mind that no other job would be so leisure than a teacher's. we will be seasoned in some subjects and will continue in them only in teaching course. but, in other jobs you are supposed to improve your skills day by day at a faster pace and in multiple directions.
dont be admant of the pay intially. if you were a good teacher then better pay will definitely hunt you easily. yourpresentation and vocal skills will help you in that.

I am actually on my way out the door of teaching, but I am setting myself up so I can stop. I have been teaching for 7 years and want to change my job. I got into a home based business. I will get to train eventually, so I will still be teaching, which was what drew me to it. Plus I teach others about the business. So, I am going to start my business up, then "retire". This is something you might consider. Good luck and let me know if I can help!

In order to cease teaching and retain monetary compensation you will need to retire and live off of your pension, provided you have taught for 20 years.

Instead of quitting, try some professional development and join an organization, such as Kappa Delta Pi. you have obviously burned out, but it isn't too late to get the fire back in your gut.
