I definitely look forward to Xmas for several reasons. I love it when the malls start putting out the decorations! That is the BEST! You smell the smell of the scented candles, the cinnamon roasted nuts at the stands, you catch all the sales for gifts, see the kids in line to take pics with Santa (& it makes you think back to when you were small enough to sit on his knee). Then when you leave the mall, you see all the houses decorated with anything from a simple window with chasing lights to a gi-normous nativity scene with a plastic Santa on the roof! Some people overdo it, true, but its still nice to look at & see kids faces when they see it. All the commercials, the sounds of Xmas like the jingling bells, the carols, the "ho, ho, hos". Then on the actual day, you get to see family that you probably havent kept in touch with on a regular basis & sit down & eat the 2nd best dinner of your life (cant 4get Thanksgiving, lol). Later you share stories, games, drinks (not necessarily "spirits" :-) ), jokes, laughs, & gifts. The gift swap is very nice & very thoughtful (especially the thought of seeing that persons face when they open that SPECIAL gift) but its more about everything else that I mentioned.

I love Christmas too! My husband always askes me why I love Christmas as much as I do....at first I could not really answer that question because I did not know myself. But now that I have had time to think about it I would say that I love all the fall or winter holidays because when I was growing up they were the best times that I had with my family. My dad was not that great with us but during the holidays both my parents made a special effort to make sure that we were happy and excited about life! I know that sounds crazy but it really worked. And I just love the sights and sounds of the city and stores. And yes I will say that I have encountered some of the humbugs of the world but that just does not bother me!

I enjoy CHristmas but don't know if I could handle it more than once. After working in retail for many years, you learn to hate it because it just means long hours working late, too tired to enjoy, not much time with your children who are out of school, rude customers , etc. Having to work from 2 in the afternoon till 2 am picking up the messes people left kind of puts a damper on any holiday cheer.

I love Christmas. The light, music, hanging out with friends and family, etc. But I'd prefer to celebrate whern it gets closer to the holiday season. It just doesn't feel right singing carols when it 90 degrees out.

I do. I love Christmas and everything about it. I have most of my Christmas shopping done - I start in January. It's just the feeling that goes with the season. Doesn't matter what religion you are or aren't, the holiday season is the best time of year, so enjoy it and give of yourself.

I'm happy with it only in December. I dated a guy who decorated his room with Christmas decorations and played carols all year long. Was a little creepy I thought.

First, a certainty verify. no person is advocating removing Christmas, invoice O'Reilly and his "war on Christmas" even though. 2nd, no rely if possible leave out the holiday and to what quantity relies upon on his/her emotional and/or non secular attachment to it. there are various non-non secular institutions that circulate alongside with Christmas -- the crisp, chilly iciness air, the relatives gatherings, the smell of a wood-burning hearth -- and this could okay survive if we looked upon the holiday as iciness Solstice, that's the place it originated. (no person believes Jesus replaced into extremely born on December 25; the date replaced into chosen via the early Roman Catholic hierarchy to charm to the pagans who celebrated the shortest day of the year around that date.) confident, there could be lots to leave out if Christmas have been "abolished," yet some ought to even welcome the absence of rushed holiday figuring out to purchase, struggling with via crowds on the mall, and the forced gaiety that the season inspires. Is it a twist of fate that suicide rates top at Christmas time? Or is it on the subject rely of the reality that our actual lives do no longer stay as much as the idealized variations we see in made-for-TY yule video clips? basically asking.

I like the holidays to stay as they are because if they were all the time, then you wouldn't have anything to look forward to. I do love Christmas though. My wedding was in Dec. and we had a Christmas themed wedding,my wedding flowers were poinsettias.
