topic of global warming has been discussed so much here at yahoo answer.but i will like to go in detail.there is steady balance between sun incoming energy and energy radiated by earth to space.but when this balance is disturbed, its has lot of effect such as on food production, floods, rise in ocean level etc.sun light has range of wavelengths(300nm to 5000nm) when it reaches on earth, earth does not absorb much and it radiates much of it back on space but earth will radiate the energy having large wavelength so infra red cannot move so freely because of not larger wavelength when it radiated back these infra red are captured by water vapours and carbon dioxide and radiations are trapped and atmosphere is heated up resulting change in temperature of atmosphere.but carbon emission and production is being increased by human beings continuously.i think that major reason for global warming is due to greed in energy, greed for wealth, one of the reason is deforestration, forest are being cut and when these trees rot or burned they emit carbon dioxide .les take an example in brazil amazon rain forest covered once 3 million square miles but now its 25% to 30% is being devastaed and other 20% is seriously disturbed.i have seen many people writing that they donot worry much about global warming but you can see that i cause rise in sea level panel on climate stated that ocean level can rise to 65cm and i think that tsunami, hurricane, fllos those have taken place are due to global warming which we are collectively ading to world.lets suppose that before industrial revolution carbon concentration was 280-90ppm and in now it is 340ppm.if burning of fossil fuel continues climatoligist think that carbon dioxide concentration will be doubled and temperature of our planet will rise to 2-3C.as you talked bout solution,it is difficult for individual i mean that from 100 if 1 person take care of environment and prevents his contribution to global warming,it will not effect on global warming.we should rather must think collectively as nation, for this we will have to leave luxries we r enjoying which is not for anybody suppose i cannot leave luxries and facilities i have.i cannot go to college by bicycle, public transport or by foot i will definitely use car.and surely add to global warming.there is too hot in pakistan,i will have to switch on AC or cooler to make myself comfortable and easy and surely i will add up to global warming.many industrial nations like usa, china, japan cannot leave use of fossil fuel and there are many example.i have seen one practical steps avoiding increase in global temperature that is debt-swap scheme which is aimed protecting rain forest because poor countries are cutting down forest to repay foreign and are desperately in need of revenue they will get for timber.in debt-swap rich countries agree to cancel a debt for poor country if that country will agree conserve a certain area of forest in exchange.many poor countries such as cameroon, madagascar, costa rica and boliva has taken benfit from this scheme.hope so it will expand further more.i think we will have to think collectively and as nation to make this planet beautiful and happy one

The 2005 North Atlantic hurricane season was the most active in recorded history, and caused an unprecedented level of damage.
Now, in the second major global warming study released on June 22nd, the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) has found:
Global warming accounted for around half of the extra hurricane-fueling warmth in the waters of the tropical North Atlantic in 2005, while natural cycles were only a minor factor.
… The study contradicts recent claims that natural cycles are responsible for the upturn in Atlantic hurricane activity since 1995. It also adds support to the premise that hurricane seasons will become more active as global temperatures rise.
Some background: Last year, sea-surface temperatures in the tropical Atlantic “were a record 1.7° F above the 1901-1970 average.”
Previous studies had suggested that the more intense hurricane activity was largely due to a 60-to-80-year natural cycle in sea-surface temperatures. But according to the study released today, less than .2° F of the rise was due to this natural cycle. Global warming, on the other hand, caused roughly half (about 0.8° F) of the rise, more than any other factor.

The jury is still out--but a few facts --some ice packs are actually GROWING (Greenland and the INTERIOR ice pack in the Antarctic) and some are shrinking(glacier atop Mount Kilimijaro in Africa) The earth is cyclic - cooling - warming - cooling..... This account for some - we (humans) do effect it somewhat--When the people cut the trees at the base of kiliminjaro it stop the cooling effect of the forest and hotter air is now common at the top--hence the glacier melting.ALL the best info says even if we were to drastically reduce our greenhouse emissions-it would make LITTLE difference in the overall mean temps around the world. So from this I take it is more natural than anything--hope that helps.

that's an exceedingly controversial concern, the position the right scientists do not have any more began to exercising consultation an answer - international warming is stipulated as reality for some and fantasy to others, so conflict arises. also, i imagine because of our caution structures and actual looking safe practices, cataclysmic events with the aid of international warming do not have any more began to take position. besides the undeniable fact that, ability and abundance of tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts and floods have higher, yet they don't have any more began to be deadly to total international locations. The drought of the united kingdom in 1975/seventy six became extreme yet no longer deadly, as became the drought in 2010-2012 for the united kingdom. the united statesdrought this 12 months has been particularly extreme, yet large lack of existence isn't recorded. Flooding of China and Japan from modern-day hurricanes were particularly unfavorable, yet back, large lack of existence isn't recorded. i don't think of we've considered major cataclysm straight away as therefore of international warming, and if there is one such adventure, how can we even say that is therefore of AGW? it would want to easily be a organic phenomena and under no circumstances therefore of AGW.

Man Kind has been destroying the Earth for many years now and it's only going to get worse. The Maker so to speak has a plan for everyone and everything. This is just all part of his plan for the Earth.

Y'know, this whole thing started when a couple of scientific-type guys were drinking at a bar one night and some fella' came along and turned the thermostat up a bit. Later, one of the guys looks over at the thermostat and says, "Damn, it's getting warmer and warmer!" The other guy glances at the thermostat and says, "Yeah, it's because of these damned man-made things". Unfortunately, there was a CNN guy across the bar and he heard the whole thing. The rest is history.

global warming has existed ever since the beginning. however since the creation of industries, we are responsible for 77% of global warming. the only way that earth is capable of recovering is through ice ages. it stabilizes the atmosphere, and the ice reflects back sunlight to space while more ozone is slowly created to replenish the protective layer.

I am one of those people that believe many things could be the result of man, or could just be the result of natural factors in the world we live in. I mean, yes I do feel that we helped it along, but then again you never know....it could have happened with or without us. We don't know anything, we only have theories and "scientific" information to justify our feelings about things. Nothing is proven except that we are clueless.

I think so, because the Earth orbits the sun, and the Moon orbits the Earth, and since everything is changing, it's bound to happen eventually.
