I think the only credible evidence would be identical twins. If one is gay and one is not then it is a choice.

No, there's not. That's because it's NOT a matter of choice. As a good friend of mine (who's gay) once said, 'Why would people CHOOSE to be something that would break their parents' hearts, alienate them from society and make them potential victims of hate crimes?'.
The theory (that being gay is a choice) is not taboo, just stupid

You can't prove opinions and social choices. They aren't measurable. And unfortunately, gay rights activists control the media. Therefore, the subject is taboo. But you're right, it is a behavioral choice.

Science of child development has drawn the conclusion that a child shows gay behavior beginning at around 5. I don't think you choose to be gay for this reason. I have a cousin who behaved like a girl from toddlerhood. I do believe that a gay person can choose to hide his/her homosexuality.

I am gay and I did NOT choose to be this way. I didn't want to be gay and it led me to hate myself for many years. My life experience is similar to Da ben dan's (who posted an answer before me). People may insist that it is a choice, but they are not seeing the "humanity" of the situation and individual experience. They are not truly listening to those who are gay and know that it wasn't a choice.

I've known lots of people, who in some period of their life, said they were gay/Lesbian and then switchback. For most people, it's a choice. It's a frequent choice for ugly women who don't feel like they fit into this area to the good-looking woman so they simply create their own group so they can feel like they belong and even trick themselves in the feeling superior by becoming defensive.

In many cases it seems to be a matter of hormones and genetics, nature rather than nurture. However, homosexuality can be inflicted upon youth by homosexual molestation or through fear of heterosexual relations (shyness), creating a sex-identity through first sexual contact.
NAMBLA and other homosexual groups are interested in eliminating the age of consent. That gives them access to more youngsters to induct into homosexuality. This is also the purpose behind exposing youngsters to homosexuality at the earliest possible age in schools - to encourage experimentation with older homosexuals who would like access to youths.

i think that the gay issue has been over rated...what one does behind closed doors should not matter...it does not seem to matter if it is a matter of choice or not...most gays will say that they were born that way, regardless of if they truly feel that way or not...the credible evidence is in the mind of the gay person...

I'm gay....believe me it was never a choice...why would I have chosen to cause myself a nervous breakdown and attempt suicide because I couldn't deal with who I was?..That was a long time ago...now it is a CHOICE..a choice to like myself for who I am...a gay male.
