To me it may make me think of the word "oppressive", however, you have to remember that it is not oppressive to them. It is influenced by their way of life and religion. They are quite happy too and would probably add a quippy "Thank-You very much!"

Sometimes I feel bad for them. But I don't understand the whole concept, so I usually just forget about it. I assume they use one because they want to.
