a truely ridiculous pick.
Nothing sinister in it though. Just showing than Sven is a complete idiot and is about as capable as picking an England Football squad as I am of picking the Scottish Elephant Polo team.
In all seriousness, I genuinely think that Sven picked him thinking that he would not be required to play. Thus hyping his own name, especially as he is stepping down from a £5 million contract. He wanted to go knowing his name would forever be linked to the "amazing" decision to take Walcott to Germany. He will be able to sell thousands of copies of books which contain an explaination of the pick, thus ensuring a hefty windfall even after the FA have stopped paying him.
Sven is a complete weapon of a man who should be forever banned from returning to our land!!!!!

You mean trying to boost his value - the decision was very strange, but I do not think he is worth any more now than at the start of the competition - I think we will never know the reason why he was selected. Possible the daftest pick ever.
