My boyfiriend gets home late, and often he has alot to prepare for, so we don't get to see each other until late hours.

I've basically been up at odd hours and sleeping during the day. I'm investigating a night and mood aid (not drug or RX). Any suggestions on that, and any suggestions for refreshing facial skin that feels and looks like its lagging behind.

Melatonin for a person over 18 is effective in promoting the REM sleep that is considered restful. It helps your body acclamate to change like sleeping in the day.
Darkening the room, blocking street noise with music or sound that is soothing helps. Sleep at the same time pattern.

My facial advice is to go to a beauty college and let them give you a facial every two weeks. They can give great advice as students to you.

Melatonin works for me. Very small doses. Take it about 30 minutes before you want to go to sleep and then turn off the TV and all the lights and get comfortable and you will drift right off. I find that if I don't allow for my full 8 hours then I will be a tad groggy when I wake up. However, if I give it a full sleep time then I wake up very refreshed.

I have read that the valerian root has some side effects if you use it long term. Don't know the details on that though.

For sleep try Diphenhydramine HCL. It is the active ingredient in Bendadryl and over the counter sleep aids. You can generally buy a generic form of benadryl and get the same benefits (its the same drug) at a much cheaper cost. Try researching GHB as it has great sleep benefits if you can find it (but never drink or do anything else with it). Most of all exercising can do wonders for a good sleep habit. As for your relationship, you need to find other ways of relating than spending your sleep time hanging out. This is your biggest issue with sleep. If you were not sleeping during the day you would do much better at night.
Good luck to you!
