Hi, betts. I read Lady Chatterly's Lover as a teenager; found it very sensual and very appealing even if the characterization is a bit flat. Not at all surprising that it caused so much controversy among Lawrence's uptight contemporaries.

Agree, look how many movies, albums would have been a dismal failure untill groups of people started protesting. A rap singer once made a statement to all the people protesting his album. "Thank You I couldn't buy this much publicity."

True. I loooooove "Catcher in the Rye." And who doesn't love a classic Mark Twain novel!!?? From a comical view, go ahead and ban a book if you don't want it to get read. Students, however, would go for a banned book anyday because their inquisitive minds would make them wonder while reading why it's being banned, and secondly, they'd analyze the hell out of the book. Then again there's always the generic test, but banning is so much more fun!

Well, I do know that there is no better way to get a number one song in England than to get it banned by the BBC!

Have you ever read "Lady Chatterly's Lover"?

Agree. If people think it is dangerous thinking, they are more likely to check it out.

It depends on why they say you shouldn't read it. If you say it's boring then most people won't. If you say it had to much violence or sex then people will read it.
