It's not scary, but it sure has a lot of responsibility.
The hardest thing for most people (after learning the mechanics & road rules) is to ALWAYS be ahead of your car. ALWAYS observe and know what the traffic ahead will be when you get there. ALWAYS be aware of traffic on the left and right. ALWAYS give signals BEFORE you execute.
GOOD LUCK

Nah. I learnt when I was 9 years old. The scary thing is that eight years later, I was out on the road. Driving isn't scary, but other drivers are. It might seem scary at first but everything is the first time. Get a good, confident insturctor and you'll have no problems. And remember, everyone was a learner driver once! Youare not alone!

It can be a little intimidating the first time you go out on the highway with all those cars whizzing by. But the more you drive the more comfortable you get. I was taught to drive when i was 12 so by the time i got my license it wasn't that big of a deal.

The scary part for me was learning to drive in-town...around the corners. I learned how to drive on gravel roads, then moved to highway, then in-town. When you do finally learn, you'll be excited!

YES!!!! I'm learning to drive now and I nearly cr*ap myself everytime I go out... yesterday I nearly ran over an old man who walked out onto the road from behind some bushes RIGHT in front of me and I had to swerve onto the other side of the road to avoid him, and I couldn't get started at the traffic lights and all the cars behind me were all blasting their horns... getting me even more wound up! By the time I got home all the moisture from my mouth had evacuated to the palms of my hands...
Despite this, it is quite fun.

No, it is not scary. take your time. start in an empty parking lot first or in your grandparents hay field. have someone who has some patience teach you so you don't get flustered and freek out.
