im 12 and i want to get skinny fast, what should i do?

It depends on where you are at with your weight right now. Don't let the media influence you into having an eating disorder. When I was 12, I was very overweight, and Weight Watchers was the only healthy way to go. The weight went off pretty fast, and I was able to find a healthy weight. I don't think that you should be trying to become skinny during this age. You're a growing child, and, if you keep on trying to get skinny by skipping meals, you're going to be anorexic and you don't want to be anorexic. I have a friend who's anorexic and she has to go to a psychologist for rehabiliatation. She throws up all the time and, yes, she's skinny but she's just flesh clinging to bones, it's not pretty.

However, the best to do is to have a balanced diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and protein which is necessary for adolescent growth and drink lots of milk and water. Best of all, be active and play sports!

Eat smaller meals often. I'm 22 and I've managed to stay skinny (5'3, 97-100lbs) by eating less more often. Basically, instead of having 2 or 3 huge meals a day, I have 5-6 small meals. I know that seems difficult considering you'll be in school and all, but bring snacks with you to munch on throughout the day.

You should wait until you are older and you have grown into your body before making the decision to lose weight. Stay or become active in some extra-curricular activities at school or join a sports team to stay in shape, but don't take any drastic measures (i.e. going on a diet).

At twelve, you really shouldn't be so concerned with losing weight. Enjoy being twelve years old while you can and stay away from people who tell you that you need to lose weight. That is the best advice I can give you.

Get active. Exercise with lots of layers on. You're probably not even fat.

play sports like tennis, soccer, swimming... I am twelve too and I do that, it's great exercise!
