Motorcycles are addictive. Proceed with caution.
It is a tool, and as such, it depends on how it is used.
The best way to learn is through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course in your area. They supply the bikes. Usually you get your license in the mail and an insurance discount if you pass the course. The first day you learn how to control the bike and the second day is spent learning strategies for staying alive on the street (it's no accident -- oh! I kill myself, sometimes).
Personally, I drive like I'm invisible to caged drivers, because a lot of times I am. Even when the car driver looks right at me they pull out in front of me, but I'm ready for them.
If you want to stay alive, then forget about alcohol and drugs. Being over-tired or driving beyond your ability is also bad.
The two things to protect you are your protective gear and your skill level.

Motorcycle not good. Motorcycle not bad. Motorcycle is simply Motorcycle. Good or bad depends on person in control of motorcyle.

Should be compulsory for everyone to learn to ride a motorcycle, that way we would have car drivers more aware of road conditions and the bad drivers just wont make it through the learning curve.

Depends on the rider. Good, if you're careful-Bad, if you're not.
Note: I know a guy who has a motorcycle and he's in a wheelchair -Not cause of the bike, but because a CAR accident.

Good or bad depends on individual... Its more dangerous as compared to cars as you dun have anything to protect you should there be any accident. However, its better to travel with motorcycle especially when there is traffic jam.

It depends. Motorcycles are good if you ride safe and with an intend to ride safe. If you are on a bike doing crazy stuff, I would say it's bad. I used to have a sportsbike. 1999 GSX-R 750. Nice bike but sometimes i did some crazy stuff with it and almost killed myself several times. ridin safe on a bike-good, ridin crazy-unsafe and bad.
