Twill is a weave used to make many kinds of strong cloth.
In twill, the lengthwise threads meet the crosswise threads that diagonal lines appear on the surface of the finished cloth.
Twill weaves can be varied to make broken, enwining, figured, or even reversing lines on the cloth.
With clothing, materials such as denim, serge, or gabardine are examples of twill.
