I always take care of my pool each week, but then 3 days after it has green water and its very cloudy underwater, meaning that I cant even see other people from the other side of the pool. I add chlorine, "shock" and i always clean the filter every 2 days and change it every 2 weeks.. What CAN I DO to keep my pool CLEAN without green water ALWAYS. Will chlorine tablets work better than the powdery chlorine subtance? How long will it last, I know that because of the heat powder chlorine can dissolve easily. I use this, is that why my pool is always green???

Make sure you run the pump long enough each day. That's very important. Regardless of chemicals, if the pool isn't being filtered long enough it will be green/cloudy. As for chlorine: It goes away based on water temperature and amount/intensity of sunshine. You should use tablets AND granular chlorine. That will help insure that you always have a chlorine residual in the water. OR, as an alternative, you can use a product called Pristine Blue. Believe it or not, you add a few OUNCES every two weeks! I've used it for almost 8 years now and will NEVER go back to chlorine. Check out the website: www.pristineblue.com

It gets green when it needs more chlorine. At my house it gets green after it rains. We use the powdery chlorine but I don't know how much. Maybe you are not putting enough for the size of the pool or maybe you have too add more every 3 days.

Chlorine evaporates in hot weather, you may also need to add algicide and a clarifier, test your water frequently to see what chemicals need to be added. Also take water sample to a good pool supply store and have them check it once a month.
We switched from chlorine to Bacquicil a couple of years ago and really like it. It don't have the copper sulfate in it like the pristine blue which will tend to turn blonde hair green.

You have to clean your pool yourself every couple of days, not weekly, and also check the ph/balance twice a week at least. There's a pool cleaner robot which doesn't require you to push it around but it gets in the way when you are swimming.

Do you keep it covered when you're not using it? I do, and my pool water is always sparkling clear! Last year I left it uncovered for about a month, and it turned green and cloudy, just like yours.
