Sounds like a virus or maybe a bad install first time around. (Stuff happens, y'know.)

Uninstall your current Yahoo browser. You can do that by clicking start -> control panel -> add/remove programs. Once this screen opens up, scroll down to Yahoo and look for Yahoo Browser. If you see it, uninstall it. Now look for something called Yahoo Applications. If you see this one, click on the + sign to open it and see what all you've got in the way of Yahoo utilities. You might see yet another Yahoo Browser listed. If so, you need to uninstall it as well.

Run your antivirus and antispyware to make sure you don't have something lurking in your computer.

Do a disk clean up and a defrag to try to optimize your entire computer and remove other "junk". (Junk is a highly technical term that simply means "things that can make your computer act funny".)

Click on start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools. From there you can run the cleanup (check mark everything and run it) and then the defrag. If you've never done the cleanup or defrag before, it can take a while. First time I ran them it took over 3 hours.

Now that you've got a relatively cleaner machine, reinstall the Yahoo browser. It should work this time around.

Hope this helps a little.

Go to internet options: select tools (if using Firefox) go to Options Go to Location: Make my home page (type in http://www.yahoo.com) Apply and save.
If you want a worry-free browser that saves the changes without worrying about malicious attacks on your home page (that can be a sign that a trojan or virus is attacking your computer) and redirecting your home page. Happened to me using Internet explorer, has not happened EVER using Firefox.

If that does not work, enclosed are some online virus scanners and a free spyware program you should try to immediately run.
