Firstly, No religious postings please....

Obviously, a bisexual is capable of loving both sexes. Now, when a bisexual loves a member of their own gender - how does their love differ from that of a homosexual loving their own gender?

I have my own thoughts/experiences, but I'd like to know other peoples thoughts/experiences - especially from fellow bisexuals, or homosexuals who have dated bisexuals.

Oh, and please - NO biphobic responses.

Bisexuality really does exist. Sexuality is not black and white.

Ok, well I personally am bisexual but it's my belief that, yes, a bisexual person loves different sexes differently. For the purpose of this answer I'm not just talking about the actual act of sex, but rather the bonding in a relationship.

As a male bisexual I am much, much more picky about the guys I'm with then the girls I'm with. Perhaps it's because I have a natural instinct that looks for and avoids overly dominant or aggressive men. Either way I think if you find someone you love and want to invest time with it can be a great thing either way.

Firstly to Ava and JoHanna: You're certainly entitled to believe what you choose to believe. You're even entitled to express it here (though I would rather you didn't). I am not deluding myself, however (where's your proof that I am?), I AM bisexual. not only am I capable but I HAVE loved and lain with partners of both genders quite fulfillingly, thank you.

Nemesis, what you are asking is unanswerable. Even when I began my voyage of discovery and thought I was gay, there was always the knowledge that I had previously had a relationship with a girl. Granted, at the time I thought it was an aberration, on my part, but, still, I was later to discover it wasn't. So I've never been truly homosexual that I can recognise a difference in the way I approach same sex liaisons, now that I am a self aware Bisexual.

The only thing I can offer is a difference between partnering a Bi-male and a gay male: a certain comfort from knowing that your Bi-partner intimately understands, the issues arising from your monogamous commitment to one another.

Don't get me wrong, some of my gay lovers were empathetic about it, but they couldn't be SYMpathetic. Others I've had have been truly mistrustful, my mistake for getting involved.

It depends on the bisexual. I personally have been romantically in love with both sexes and know many like me but some bisexuals tend to love one gender and just lust after the other. This is what causes the problems with acceptance with in the gay community because they can not understand that people are in a gray area with respect to sexual atractions and gender, with differing levels of attraction for coresponding genders.

I was told that ten percent of the population is totally gay, ten percent it totally staright, and in between is everyone else. This that think about the opposite sex but never do anything about it, those that think about the same sex but aren't motivated sexually to do anything.

So of course Bisexuals are going to preffer one gender over the other. That's just the way it is. Some bisexuals love those of the opposite sex, but are only sexually interested in those of teh same.

For me, I preffer women totally, even though I have a boyfriend that I love and adore. If it weren't for him I would still be chasing the girls--but I really do miss them.

I think every relationship between two different people is going to be different because they each are different, see things differently, different things are important to them, and so on... ok then add in one or both of those people being bisexual and it gets even more complex, so yes. I think bi people may go into a realtionship with the same sex for different reasons sometimes, maybe more of a sprit thing or animal reaction, but others times they may look at it like any other realtionship. This goes into the Butterfly Effect and about each different person and who they really are. WTF, I think I'll just go outside to get some air. So complex life is.

I'm bisexual and can't comprehend how it would be not to be attracted to one gender or the other. Whereas both homosexuals and hetrosexuals are attracted to one gender with the exclusion of the other. So, I imagine that homosexuals and hetrosexuals see a notable difference between men and women that I don't see - I mean, sometimes the difference isn't all that obvious!

I have a friend who is bisexual and she loves boobs just as much as she loves men, and is attracted to them. she has had sex with a man but has done stuff with women, and i bet she would have sex with a woman, so I dont think being bisexual or homosexual is much different, with regard to sex.

Bisexualality indicates sexual interest and attraction to members of either sex. Although the sexual act itself may vary depending on who you are with, I think love is love and attraction is attraction. Homosexuals, heterosexuals, and bisexuals all love their partners in comparable ways (emotionally, behaviourally, sexually) and it's really just the mechanics of sexual pleasure with each partner that differ.

Personally, I love both men and women the same. But some times i have a stronger lust for men than i do with women. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as sexually attracted to women as men. But there is something about being with a fine guy that just makes me hot and disturbed.

What is love?, Obviously there are different levels of love and different relationships within it. I believe love and sex are completely different acts.
You can have sex without love and have love without sex. I find it all very confusing but fascinating. We as a race are very quick to find the answers but when it comes to the human mind and feelings and emotions we are quick to pigeon hole and label and in my ideal world It wouldnt matter what colour race or sex or preference is as long as we are all happy!
