When people say that it usually means innocent, trusting far too much to fit the times. Like the woman who opens the door at 2am to a couple of people who say they have car trouble, she's a good samaritan, invites them in without checking them out to see if there is a car out there, and then gets robbed or killed. The innocent are the ones that are a little slower than average too like IQ wise, they trust too much, believe whatever they are told, and get into bad situations because of it. Innocent just means you didn't do anything wrong, you are pure at heart etc people use it more nowadays to describe the unknowing trusting people.

I have a friend who I would definitely describe as 'innocent'. She knows a lot about the world, but then there's a lot she doesn't know - it's hard to explain! I think the best way to define innocent is as the opposite of cynical. Innocence is a type of naivety, but in a more positive way.

well there are some "guiltifying" things that are common for most people within a community, such as lying to a parent or stealing cookies from a cookie dispenser when small. innocence is subjective. it means different things in different communities. in the american community, for instance, disrespect for parents and hungry rowdiness for cookies is quite common, so americans accept that everyone in their community does that, and they are okay with it. when it comes to other more uncommon acts that are also viewed as inappropriate, such as stabbing a man 42 times with a stainless steel knife, then innocence is lost within that community and probably most others (since murder is uncommon and inappropriate in most communities). however, in many communities, disrespect for parents and hungry rowdiness for cookies are not expected and are not common since somewhat different morals are instilled in small children, and if small children do such things, they are not considered innocent in that community. when i say communities, of course, i don't mean anything that is limited by geography. there could be religious communities as well. for instance, in the catholic community, a baby is viewed as not innocent because of the catholic belief in original sin from adam and eve that is passed to all children, and the baby must be made more innocent after entering the catholic religion. so there are different ways to be innocent according to different communities of people. as a final example, although adultery (cheating on wife/husband) is seen as inappropriate in all places that use the term or its translation, it may be considered common and therefore participants are considered innocent in a community in which everyone does the act (e.g. england or some tribe like that where everyone is adulterous), while it is not innocent and is therefore punishable in other communities. the hero strikes again!

"innocent" is PC for "idiots", in other words those who do not know about evil.
American are "innocents", they don't know that evil is out there... but when they know, like after 9/11, then they send the B52 and killed other "innocents:" that do not know that they are rule by evil...
all in all, a bunch of idiots....
