Ok lets start from the beginning. My best friends dad (lets call him joe) was in jail the day my best friend (lets call her betty) was born. Joe was in for drug use I think cocaine. He was big trouble when Betty lived with her mom and JOE he ran away a couple of times (this started 14 years ago). Then when betty was 5, Joe and Bettys mom got divorced. Then in 2002 they started dating again then broke up. Recently my friend wanted to go to the mall with me, but she didn’t have any money. I suggested that her dad meet us at the mall and bring us money. Betty said He can’t leave his House. I said Why not. She said back in a mean voice Its personal and I don’t want to talk about it. So then 2 days ago My friend called my house on private caller. I answered Just to see who it was. I asked her why it was on Private Caller and she said the same thing as when her dad couldn’t leave his houe, its personal. oh ya, to make it unprivate you press *82
Also: Joe stole all of mom jewelry.
Ideas?

Sounds like he under house arrest.
Could be for a number of reasons.

I'm having trouble with, .... Also: Joe stole all my mom's jewelry? IT doesn't figure, I think ole Joe is being exploited for his past for whatever reason, (might you know?) if not and you are certain , quite certain then confront Joe, with backup + an extra, give Joe the option and judge his alibi, you be the judge, It can be resolved between the 2 of you.

i think your just being nosey and if your friend doesnt want to tell you whats wrong then, dont worry about it, not your family, and someone going to jail because of drugs its a drug addict, not a criminal

Respect your friend's privacy; if and when she's ready to talk about her personal family issues, she will. Until then, you should just be there for her.
