Go to the Parks and recreational pages off of the governmental website for the area you live in.
Possibly need to look at the town, city, or county.
Also, check with the local newspaper.

Check out the website of your local TV news station. They almost always have that information available! If you don't know their website address, it's a pretty safe bet that it will just be their call letters. For example, my local stations website is www.WWMT.com. Give it a try. 4th fireworks in my area = every other block
umm.. try craigslist.org. if you've never been there it has all kinds of local stuff, it'll probably take you to the san fran page initially and then you gotta find your area on the right, and then its under events somewhere on there.
