I love NASCAR & I don't know why people say "it's just a group of cars going around in circles!" There are ROAD COURSES! And, yes, most of the tracks are ovals, but it's more complicated than "a bunch of cars going around in circles!" I'd like to see some of the NASCAR haters try to drive a race car @ 200 m.p.h.!

To the first person who answered this question, YOU are the loser who can't keep an open mind about what other people may like! How shameful of you to be so simple minded! Anyway, back to this question, I adore the sport, disagree with the whole "redneck" image, and think nascar couldn't be better if they tried. I'm far from being a redneck in many different ways...and enjoy the sport and know a lot about it. I know that most nascar fans, if not all, are just normal people who like racing and understand the intricate strategies and exciting speed of the sport. I can't stress how complicated nascar really is! It's WAY more than simply racing around oval tracks...and you are completely right...there are road courses too! nascar is my favorite sport to watch, and I have become a huge fan over the last few years. To people who dislike the sport, they probably don't understand all the nascar terms and symbols used in the races. I didn't when I first started watching! But the more you watch, the better...I quickly caught on after a few races. Anyway, ignore the sad lot of people who don't like nascar and can't accept people who do like it. YOU know it's awesome, and LOTS of other people agree with you, so stick with them!!

I think all the Nascar haters are really just ignorant as to everything required to be competitive in Nascar if they had a clue as to what was going on then perhaps they would enjoy watching it.I am ignorant when it comes to hockey, therefore I dont watch it but I dont hate it nor would I ever say that it's not a sport it almost seems as if these (non-informed non-fans) are on a crusade or jihad against Nascar. As for me I love Nascar for me missing even one race is not an option the only thing that even comes close is college football

the people who feel that way about NASCAR have no idea what really goes into a race. There is alot of behind the scenes work that these people arent aware of. The pit crew, the fabricators, the sponsors, the people who obtain the sponsors.... Not to mention every time a driver gets in the car they are risking their very life. I love NASCAR because of what goes into it. How many other sports do fans show up 3 to 4 days before the events? Besides the people who think NASCAR is just driving around in circles should try driving one of those cars that fast in a circle. Stupid people annoy me!

Amen my sista!! Seriously, I could give a crap less if there were two road courses or not.. I'd still love it. Ovals, squares, triangles, circles, roads..whatever I'll take it. I love Nascar. Those that hate it don't get it, and dont' see there is so much more to the sport than what is broadcasted on TV>

I've been a huge NASCAR fan for about 20+ yrs. It is the best sport, unlike alot of sports where athletes are overpaid, and complain about not making enough money and decide to strike. NASCAR is the only sport where you'll never have to worry about a strike.

I am a NASCAR fan,,,have been for a loooooong time( I grew up watching Richard Petty in his prime,,66-67),,but I do have to agree,,it has turned into nothing but left hand turns,,they use to race on more road course's,,,that takes more skill then going in a circle,,I still like NASCAR,,but,,,,,would like it more if they brought back more road races(and they use to race on dirt tracks years ago also,,,that would be good challeng also!!)

I love NASCAR, let all the haters have their opinions....I wonder what they would say if we fans went on Answers threads about their fave sport and said stupid stuff about it(and them)...they'd be just as defensive of what they like as we are....
Talking sports these days is just like talking about politics, you're bound to rub someone the wrong way. I like racing, NASCAR and NHRA, and yes I like other sports too.
To each their own.

Non Athletic Sports Championship Attended by Rednecks
The technology is primitive at best (see formula one)
but i cant bash nascar. i have watched some interesting races, esp at short tracks (bristol) and nasacar crashes are more spectacular (well except for Spa 98 and Indianapolis this morning.) nascar isn't my favorite, but if it came to western canada, i would certainly attend

Why be blind to the truth? All it is is cars going around in circles. I don't like it myself. I'd rather watch GT racing where it's ALL road courses.
