Not everyone born in Africa is black an not every black person is from Africa. Even if there ancestors MAY have been African, you wouldn't say you are Russian if 5 generations back you had a great, great, great grandfather that was born in Russia, would you?? Perhaps it has been proven that black people originally came from Afrca which prompted the name of the race 'African American' but that is the name of the race, as in Hispanic or Caucasian. African is a nationality, like Chinese, American or Canadian. See the difference?

Africans are not the only blacks, although many people seem to think all blacks are Africans. Some of the indigenous peoples in other countries, for example, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islanders, the Samoans, Tahitians etc. are also black.

blacks are people with high concentration of melanin that gives the skin dark completion. Africans are people who originate from Africa or live in Africa.
originally most Africans were black or brown but human greed resulting in apartheid, colonialism, slavery , despotism , migration has made the term " black" and "African" meaningless in most part of the world except in America where people are so race conscious.
today, there are so called black people with very light skin and blue eyes like Vanessa Williams because of the "one drop rule".
There are also Caucasians people and , Chinese and Indians that live in Africa and claim to be Africans.
The correct term for the African black given by the white man is " "*****"
In the mind of a true African the word dosent exist. you are either a nigerian, ghananian, kenyan , or what have you.
Up here in american, all dark skin black people or to be politically correct" ******" are african americans

Africans can be of any race. If you were born there and are a citizen there then you are an African.
Personally, I have never met a black person in my life. I've met some tan to darker shades of brown people. But I am assuming you are talking about everyday ordinary American "black" people when you say black.

It's all a bunch of bull, you are where you come from, and the crap about people being brought over by the Europeans, is only about 37% of all Blacks residing in the US, most came to the country of their own free will, looking for a better life.
Black is the pigmentation of your skin, African is the Continent you are born in.

Such a misconception as there are lots of africans that are white.
Africans are people from Africa. Blacks are people with black skin, they could be from Africa or they could be from other regions of the world.

If you were born in Africa you are African. If you were born in America you are American. If you are black and you live in America you are considered African-American on paper work because of your ancestors. White Americans originally brought black people to America from Africa, we were not already here.
Just like any other nationality: Native American, Mexican American, Hispanic American,

I was born and live in South Africa, therefore I'm an African but I'm not black, I'm white. Therefore I would classify an African as someone from Africa and not by his/her race.
