In school, English class includes grammar and may also include literature (unless there is a separate Reading class).

In university or college, the English department usually offers Literature and Linguistic courses. Linguistics examines the structure and meaning of the language and includes grammar. Literature examines written works and their meanings.

So Literature is usually part of English.

It requires you to learn about: linguistics, psychology, philosophy, religions, history, and many more subjects.

Well, how about the fact that English is a LANGUAGE, and literature is something you DO with language. That's like asking what is the difference between words and a song. Your question is meaningless.
