i need to know because there is something in my pool that is swimming underwater and i need to know what it is.

They are boatmen. Look like they have 2 oars? Chlorine won't touch them. Gotta catch them in a skimmer net and toss them out-- QUICKLY!!! They won't hurt you, but they will swim up to you and "pinch" you-- cheeky devils!

No idea but I never saw a nickle sized tick. I never heard of a house being infested by ticks either. Call a company that sprays to get rid of bugs and have them come- I couldn't live in a house with wandering bugs around. yikes.

Some description of it would help. But I would say if you have a bug wandering around in your pool, you are not using enough chlorine.

As far as I know, there are no aquatic bugs that can harm you. Leaches on the other hand...

I live in Minnesota and what we call water bugs dont live in the water,but like cool dark damp areas like basements under rocks. They look like tiny armadillos- shells have ridges and they have alot of legs.

I would check with your local pool supply store. They would know what it is and how to get rid of it.
