i have a linskeys wireless B&G or its Just G i forgot lol sry

We got ours from Best Buy and they encoded it for free. They may have a service to be able to do that for you. I would highly recommend having that done. My sister didn't have it done the first time and I got 60 plus virus's to learn that lesson.

What do you mean by lock? Physical lock, or so that others can't use the router?

1. If there are only so many of you who are going to use the router, you may want to disable SSID broadcast. But make sure that you have connected atleast once to the WiFi router using your computer
2. Put in some encryption. I would strongly recommend WPA-PSK2 or WPA-PSK, but some old wireless cards might not support. Fall back to WEP if you have to, but use the max keylength possible
