My favorite songs are Nkalakatha (Mandoza) and Unqombothi (Yvonne Chaka Chaka). I'm crazy about our National Anthem and like "Hie kommie bokke" too.

To Nadira V: I do like the Springbok Nude Girls and actually saw them live once in Stellenbosch. That was years before they got so famous.

ITS SO COOL TO SEE A QUESTION BY A FELLOW SOUTH AFRICAN!!
Hard question! There is so much, and has been so much EXCELLENT music coming out of SA in the last 10-15 years.
It is so disheartening that people all over the world aren't AWARE of what is happening here musically!
My favourite all-time SA band (although I have SO MANY), is the SPRINGBOK NUDE GIRLS.
I'll therefore have to say my fav song is "BUBBLEGUM ON MY BOOTS" by SNG. The style is tight and engrossing; and the composition is far superior to many international bands I have listened to.
If you haven't heard it, do yourself a favour and listen to it.
I also LOVE FRESHLYGROUND, "the clap song" (I forget who its by), mandoza, moodphasefive, perez, Ready D ( the DJ) etc, etc,

So many nice songs here, it's confusing which one I would choose as my best. But I loved a collaboration of Mzekezeke and Brown Dash. Young boys are also emerging aggressively with Zulu and Sotho rap music, you just can't help listening to it.
Right, when I'm low and need soul comforting, The Joyous Celebrations is my soul revivor.

Hey, Mandoza has some good tunes. I like Nkalakatha. 'Take me home Jonty Rhodes' is a good one for the South Africans living in oz. And also Skatta Kamp
And best of all...what can beat our NATIONAL ANTHEM!!!!!

There are so MANY great artists here (in SA)!!!!!!!
Yeah....our national anthem rocks......its different!!!!I like "blou bul"(reminds me of primary school), & some other totally crazy afrikaans songs...
I love " I'd like" by Freshly Ground,"light of my life" by Revolution, anything by Skwatta Kamp,HHP,Zola,.....the list goes on &on & on & on & on..............I must say...our local music is da bomb!!!!! I love SA!!
