Go for the internet business which require less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business where all the things are automated. You can do stocks, money trading, flea bay, run a web site, do banner ad's, many options.

But in the 14 yrs that I have been on the internet I have seen one item that just stood out and stays in my head all the time.

This guy had made a very simple DOS like program for the Palm's (the handheld device). It was just a basic check book ledger program, helped track any expenses you had like your checkbook.

Simple right? Very!!

Well the guy had it on a home made simple single page web site, and sold it for 99 cents.

99 cents? Now how in the world is anyone gonna get rich that way??

Well at the bottom you saw a counter that said: sold units....and next to that was like 1,433,781.

Gee, the guy made 1.4 million from a single page web site and a simple program that probably took him no more than 1 day at most to make. And I bet he got it all tax free too, a dollar at a time.

No surprise that many MLM folks jumped all over your question. That's how you make money in the MLM business - recruiting more suckers. No one in the MLM busines makes money from selling the products - and that's a fact. There are suburban garages all accross America full of Amway junk as proof.

The top money maker on the internet is pornography. Various studies show that between 60-80% of all money made on the internet is from pornography.

The remaining money is made by large online retailers like Amazon, Dell, etc.

So to answer your question in a realistic way, there are no home based ways to make money on the internet. Anyone who states otherwise has been drinking from the water cooler at Microsoft again, is in the pornography business or is just trying to rip you off.

Okay, that's the easiest question I have been asked all day, lol. Here's one clue: multi-level marketing with a low start-up cost. You'll make as much as you work for in my opinion. A few hours a night of selling, marketing and using your phonebook should help you build a thriving business, if you'd like more info about the particular one I am involved with, contact me through email and I will gladly help you with what I think is the greatest company in the market right now!

Before you invest any time and money in MLM or Network marketing, please review the FTC page: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/aler...

Multilevel or "network" marketing plans are a way of selling goods or services through distributors. These plans typically promise that if you sign up as a distributor, you'll receive commissions - for your sales and those of the people you recruit to become distributors.

Evaluating a Plan
The FTC suggests that you use common sense when evaluating a multilevel marketing opportunity and consider these tips as you make your decision:

Avoid any plan that includes commissions for recruiting additional distributors. It may be an illegal pyramid.

Beware of plans that ask new distributors to purchase expensive products and marketing materials. These plans may be pyramids in disguise.

Be cautious of plans that claim you will make money through continued growth of your downline, that is, the number of distributors you recruit.

Beware of plans that claim to sell miracle products or promise enormous earnings. Ask the promoter to substantiate claims.

Beware of shills - "decoy" references paid by a plan's promoter to lie about their earnings through the plan.

Don't pay or sign any contracts in an "opportunity meeting" or any other pressure-filled situation. Insist on taking your time to think over your decision. Talk it over with a family member, friend, accountant or lawyer.

Do your homework! Check with your local Better Business Bureau and state Attorney General about any plan you're considering - especially when the claims about the product or your potential earnings seem too good to be true.

Remember that no matter how good a product and how solid a multilevel marketing plan may be, you'll need to invest sweat equity as well as dollars for your investment to pay off.

You may want to read the article “6 Hottest Businesses on the Web http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/web.htm which lists six areas of the new Web that present new opportunities to small online businesses:

The Web offers tremendous opportunities for those who know how to harness it. You hear of stories of people who earn thousands if not millions of dollars from doing business on Web. While there are many scams (same way in the traditional business world), there are various ways you can legitimately make money on the Web.

Here are the main business models you can adopt:

1. Sell products on the Web - Big boys like Amazon or Lillian Vernon online catalog or smaller businesses like BigKidsVideo.com or Candle4Less.com all sell products on the Web.

You can either sell: (a) through your own storefront through your own website or applications such as Yahoo Stores; or (b) sell through online auctions like eBay

2. Information Delivery. Others such as About.com or EuropeforVisitors.com create content and monetize their content in a number of ways:

a. Advertising - From the article "How to Generate Advertising Revenues for Your Web Site" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol28/adrevenues.htm , there are several ways you can earn money from advertising:

1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

Burst Media http://www.burstmedia.com
Fastclick (ValueClick). http://www.fastclick.com
Advertising.com. http://www.advertising.com
Tribal Fusion http://www.tribalfusion.com

2. Participate in contextual advertising networks. Contextual advertising are text ads delivered based on the content of the web page using an automated system.

Google Adsense https://www.google.com/adsense/
Yahoo! Publishing Network (currently in beta and available to US publishers only) http://publisher.yahoo.com/
Intellixt http://vibrantmedia.com/site/web_01a5.htm
Quigo Adsonar http://www.quigo.com/adsonarexchange.htm
IndustryBrains http://www.industrybrains.com
Commission Junction Evolution http://www.cj.com

3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: "no pain, no gain!"

b. Affiliate Programs - you sell other people's products that your audience may be interested in; and you get a certain commission after the desired action was done (whether a sale, a lead, subscription to email newsletter, or however this is defined)

c. Paid online content. Hoovers.com or WebmasterWorld.com Supporters forum all require paid subscription before accessing the information

d. Content licensing and syndication. Some publishers such as the Associated Press get paid every time their content is published elsewhere

It will take time and hard work. Come up with a good idea for a web site. It could be selling products, advice, information, etc. Work at getting hits and then sell advertising, your product if any, and work as an affiliate. You can make money different ways. Money will not come automatically.
