Install security cameras and fire anyone who is caught stealing. The camera alone should be a deterrant, good luck.

Secretly install a small security camera in the kitchen. Some are so small that you can install them any where and you can buy them very cheaply. When you catch someone stealing , fire them immediately and tell all of your staff that theft will not be tolerated and immediate dismissal will be the result. You could also try telling them that there will be a cut in pay until the thefts stop. No one wants to lose money on their pay cheques and it might encourage the honest staff to put pressure on the thieves to stop. If all else fails completely replace your staff and let them know what the consequences of theft will be. Good luck.

Find out how much each person steals, then pay them that part of thier wages in food not cash.
If they are stealing because they want the food then they will not have to steal any more
If they are stealing for greed or selling what they steal they will steal more and end up being paid all food and no cash, they will leave quickly

i'm going to have to go with cameras as well, but if you are in the states, and they are in Nigeria then you should conenct it to wireless internet so that you can see what is going on from home and if you live in nigeria do the same thing so you can see what is going on from home, make sure the first person you catch make an example of so no one else will do the same thing, when putting up the camera make sure to check for blind spots

Fire them for stealing and let it be known to any new staff they will be fired immediately if stealing. Set up a camera to monitor the areas food is stored so you have "proof" of who is stealing. If you see it - fire them immediately!

If they need the job, they won't steal!

I would have a meeting with them and outline what will happen if you catch them stealing. Then I would install cameras. Talk to them maybe they are just hungry. Maybe if you fed them a meal when they worked they wouldn't need to steal the food.

- If you have the proof then have a talk with them.
- Make a clear detail business system in order for you to run business even without you being there in person all the time. You can fully control it from remote place. I hope this system will include how you detect a leak, punishment and reward system, etc.

Set up a video camera and fire the people who get caught doing it. Hopefully then the rest of the people will stop for fear of losing their jobs

Cams and check the garbage.
Most thieves put the good food in the garbage.
Good luck

don't allow any backpacks or large purses to be brought in. use surveillance devices. when you know for sure who the culprit is, fire them on the spot in view of their coworkers and if the rest of your employees value their job they will think twice before stealing.
