Think about this carefully. If this will be so, it already IS so (going on the theory that time is a dimensional existent stream), and so people are, from the future traveling back into our time (they are the millionaires obviously that make it big in the stock market; but wait, if they changed the "past" by making it big when they didn't before, everything would be changed, and the world may not discover time travel, and so it would never occur in the first place)....paradoxical universes are said to be non-existent (Asimov, Hawking, etc). It would follow that if it were possible it would make itself not-possible by reason of it being used.
My conclusion is that time is merely the measurement of the continuance of things. Once something dies, rots and is no more, it is no longer in the "time stream". Traveling backwards in time is like becoming younger (for real, not just in looks), it cannot work.

We already are going forward in time.
But seriously, I think anything's possible. The main question is, can you go back in time and change what happened? Then, can you permanently alter the course of history, or do you just create a parallel time track that you end up on "afterwards?"
As for the future, that's tough. Because the future hasn't been decided yet. For any moment in time, there are an infinite number of possible futures. Is it possible to go and see one of them? I'm sure it is.

Without being a fatalist I have a nagging doubt that there is something peculiar with the nature of time. In a book entitled An experiment with Time a Western author had propounded a very interesting dimension for time.According to him it is as it were that time is a sliding staircase on which we are standing with our back to the future which we cannot see and therefore feel that it does not exist or is yet to come. He,however, felt that while on the moving staircase we sometimes turn our heads, not completely but partially behind and can look something happening and his does happen in our lives in course of time. He says that we do this looking over our shoulders during our dreams. Now stories are rife where the future has been fully or partially revealed to some people and such claims are ignored as mind games. However, the author says that his conclusions are based on actual experiments with his own dreams and further confirmed by the dreams of his friends. He does not claim any special powers for him or his friends but says that he disciplined himself to wake up immediately he had a dream and record what he saw. To his furprise he found that whatever he saw actually came to pass later. He wanted to find whether this was a peculiar for him alone and so requested some of his friends to follow suit. He found that they also had similar experiences. I am no psychic and in fact do not believe all that nonsense However, I had a dream years and years before my daughter's marriage in 1975 when we had not even thought of marrying her as she was still studying. In the dream I saw a Marriage Invitation Card where the name of the bridegroom was givien as Ramesh Kulkarni. I had spoken of this to my daughter , wife and some of my relatives and also friends. And it so happened that the nme of the boy selected by us for her was also named idenically. There were some development after the engagements when it appeared that the marriage would not take place but it went on smoothely.Sometimes I had dreams when some persons in whose contact I had come years ago and almost forgotten them would come in my dreams . And as I wondered about it within a few days news of his death at about the time the dream came to me would come. It thus appears that thee is something abiding in the nature of time and there is pretty little we could do even if we did,if we could, the Wellsian Time Machines. If at all we did these would at best enable us to views the developments neutrally without in any way interfering in their occurence ,much less twisting them in our favour.

No. Time is not a tangible thing, therefore cannot be changed. You just go along with the cycles of the earth, human's crazy ideas and ideals, and follow this made-up time thing. Time is simply a way of keeping track of how long you've been on this Earth, not something to go backward or forward in.

Technically, yes, and only if time could be a part of the location one desires to travel to, as in 7:15pm and the date (exactly) in an exact location. However, if this is possible at all, one could only travel back into the past, and a past that one actually existed in physical body. All physical events would happen exactly, nothing could be changed. In other words, it would be your consciousness of the presence back into the past of your own physical body (maybe any physical body).
Or, it would be just your consciousness travelling back in time, experiencing the physical reality of the past as it happened. In this case, it could be anywhere, anytime. Still it had to be just back into the past, not the future. This possibility may not be an artificial one, it maybe possible naturally, that our consciousness may exist without the physical, i.e. it exists despite physical laws.
Practically or physically--No.
On the other hand--If TIME did not exist in the first place, then there would not be TIME TRAVEL. Logically, if TIME were a physical place that could be travelled to, then of course we could travel back to TIME. In essence, when we remember, recall, something in the past, we are time travelling . . .

I believe we only see partial truths and that anything might come to light in more fullness as time goes on.
We should not cling to anything that seems apparant to everyone, because science, archeological explorations, medicine or personal experiences may prove all or much of the beliefs we hold today to be incorrect or seriously lacking as we approach varying horizons.
Visonaries break our boundaries and broaden our horizons.
I believe time travel is a possibility of the future.
Always,
Lily

going forward into time is easy...but going or coming backwards isnt...and wont be in your lifetime...otherwise dont ya think you wouldve came back and said hello to yourself. or even came back and stopped yourself from doin whatcha did last nite?...dont think backward time travel will ever be possible...time is a constant with strict perameters...other option may be timeloops though...but once set into motion, the outcome may be different and you wouldnt know the end effects of changing that particular timeloop and of the other lives touched at the different points of your lifetime

if u want 2 go in future u have 2 travel with the speed of 1.5 times the speed of light which is not possible hence we cannot travel in the future

The laws of physics as we understand them say time travel is within the realm of possibility. Accomplishing it however is so improbable that the odds of ever getting it to happen approach 1 in infinity.
