Open sex definately would not help the fight against AIDS. I could agree with stress. BUt the other stuff... there seems no basis for it.

I think open sex is NOT the answer but more like the problem. Open sex has made things worse. We have our children and teenagers becoming active earlier when they are neither emotionally or physically ready to deal with the responsibilities of sex. And secondly it has taken the intimacy and caring out of relationships. Now you can just go out and have the one night stand and that's that. However what about AIDS and all the STD's and diseases in the world. And what ever happen to a relationship and understanding before you jump in the sack

Open sex is not the answer. The sexual revolution of the 60's has proven than. It has produced more STD's than any other generation, including the deadly one, HIV, we've experienced in our own. Open sex does nothing for the psychic as well, as a matter of a fact it tends to lower our emotional feelings as well as our perception of others towards us. As far as relieving stress and mental illness it would cause more of these illness to come about. We as humans look for a lasting one person relationship, not with multipul persons. We look towards sharing our lives, passions, beliefs, hopes and dreams with someone who shares those same feelings, needs and beliefs. The closest of these would be our spouses or significant other. This is the person who you are going to shre the bulk of your emotions, needs, wants and beliefs with. Others would include our best friends, and family, but we usually do not share intimate things with them. If we have multipule partners we have no one to share those things with, so where do all of those emotions go? They get bottled up and cause problems later on in the forms of stress and mental problems.
Fightings STD's takes education and really abstinance. Did you know that even with a condom you can not be 100% sure of not catching any kind of STD. If it is not of latex, the disease has a greater chance of passing through the condom. The other problem is breakage. Abstinance is not easy to do, nor is it popular, but it is the best preventative program.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Let me guess . . . you're a 16-year-old boy?
Consider fire: used rightly, it can cook your dinner and keep you warm. But it can also gut your house and leave you with nothing and burn you real bad. Sex is a lot like that. Not exactly a blanket cure-all for all the world's ills.
Btw, how does open sex save lives from hiv/aids?
