I think that his books are all fantastic and can be read in any order. There are theories that some of his characters, mostly the dark ones, have extreme similarities, so much so that they may be the same character. There is one theory that the "Stephen King Universe" as some call his collection of written work is all interconnected and that one day he will write a book explaining it all. If this theory truly interests you, you should pick up "Stephen King's Universe" a book written by 2 or 3 self proclaimed Stephen King experts, this book discusses the connections between his works, though I warn you that they discuss many of the plot lines in Stephen Kings books so if you hate having a book revealed to you before you read it you may want to read his works before you read this book.

I'd read his book "On Writing" first. It's a quick read and will dispel all the nonsense you hear about Stephen King. I'm not a King fan, but I was really impressed with this book, as it had none of the usual "famous writers" preposterous BS.

Alot of them are interlinked. He co-wrote a book with Peter Straub called "The Talisman". You might want to start there. Then I would read "The Stand". And then you can tackle the Dark Tower series.

"The Talisman" has a follow-up book - I can't remember the name (somelike like The Dark House).

Yes; always read his books from page 1 to the end. This is the BEST order in which to read his books.

Nah. You can read them in any order you want. But here are the ones I liked:

Four Past Midnight (novella collection)
The Eyes of the Dragon
Needful Things (careful about starting with this one if you're sensitive about finding out what happens later)
The Bachman Books

If you are going to read the Dark Tower series, you should probably read Eyes of the Dragon first, then The Stand (the original version) then the Dark Tower series.

Unless you are reading from the Dark Tower series, there is no particular order to read them.
