thought precedes light, to percieve light first the thought of light has to be acknowledge, there is a intimate relationship between mind and matter these things arnt black and white there is a lot of grey areas ,hence this question

The laws that govern light are faster than the light itself as proven by adding energy to one end of a long chain molecule and having the opposite end react similtaniously. (it's not my theory, I'm just buying into it like the rest of y'all) lol

Light is the fastest thing in the universe. The current laws of physics prevent anything from travelling faster than the speed of light as the mass of the object would become infinite at the speed of light while having a length of 0 in the direction of travel.
Thought cannot possibly be the fastes thing in the universe as the electrical signal between neurons travels at a speed of 300 feet per second and it takes several hundred or thousand neurons to compose a single thought. Therefore thought is slower than light

When you 'travel' by thought, nothing is actually out in the universe any more than a model in a computer program would be. You are always right in the room where you started and your brain is making up some images for whatever you are imagining. That's all. Light is the fastest thing that actually travels.

Thought is not a 'thing', its an action. When we think of something we are only accessing data stored in our brain and that happens at a speed less than light.
The fastest things are theorised to be Tachyons. These particles theoretically can travel faster than light.

I wouldn't think thought would be the fastest thing in the universe because it takes a while to think things through properly. I always thought that the speed of light was the fastest thing or sound.

Thought is actually remarkably slow. Axons take about 20 ms to respond to a signal. Even things like vision take time for the brain to process, leading to persistence of vision which makes motion pictures and tv work (if we could think really quickly we would just see a series of pictures, not motion).

Thought cannot be measured in speed relative to distance the way we usually measure how 'fast' something is. The speed of thought could be measured as how fast one coherent idea or thought can be realized, or how fast one thought can give way to another equally clear though. The only way to measure the speed of thought relative to distance would be to measure the time it takes for the thought of movement of a body part to manifest in that body part, in which case thought actually pretty slow.

Thought isn't physical. Besides, even with sheaths of mylin around the axons of neurons, the electrical impluses travel slower than the speed of light.

Thought travels at the speed of light, electrons travelling down neurons, although when light travels through fiberoptics it moves faster
