I'm getting my first cell phone plan, I've had prepaid for awhile and its horrible. I was wondering how much I'm going to have to put down as a deposit since I'm a college student with little to no credit history. Also, do any carriers offer discounts to college students like they do to certain companies?

that depends on a company they take from $200 to $500, you should have someone (yourparents) co-sign it for you and you won't have to pay. usually you can get a student discount around your campus, check on orientation days... cell phone companies usually have stands around.

You probably won't get any discounts honey cell phone companies don't believe in such things. It all depends on your credit for the deposit. I had to pay $350 but mt honey didn't have to pay anything. So go in and find out. Not sure about the plans in your area but cell one has unlimited calling for $50 a month. Very reasonable I think. Texting is another thing unlimited for another 30 a month but just go in and check out what they have to offer.

That depends on your credit history. I have a friend who had to pay a $250 deposit, one who had to put down a $500 deposit, and one who had a $1000 deposit for a family plan. And, I did not have to put down any depsoit for my first cell plan.

Well, I think 3.0 and above it good. The reason why I am saying that is: most scholarships for masters students require that to made 3.0 or better even before bothering to apply in the first place.l I am in my 2nd semester(1st year) studying BSc Agriculture. 6 out of 7 of last semester's courses result are out and it is around 2.57. I want to push harder and make better than 3.0 in the future.
