Consider two points A and B which are at a distance one light year.

Imagine there is full darkness. Now a flash of light which lasts only for some nano seconds is flashing at A.

This flash of light starting from A reaches the point B in one year.

All along the path each point will be illuminated for some nanosecond. Before and after this there will be darkness.

As the flash of light proceeds, the darkness goes with the speed of light and follows the flash of light with the speed of light.

Therefore, the speed of darkness is also the speed of light.

When you are in a dark room and flick the light switch on, the light is instant, to the eye, but when you flick the switch back off, the imprint of light lingers on the eyes(seeing light dots or light memory images) and is still briefly registering in the brain, it's effects to the body linger even longer. But it is not necessarily that darkness is coming slower, but that light is leaving slower in perception. If you have ever felt down, because of a long period of dark gloomy weather, when the sun came out again, the spirits rise almost instantly, but when you're elated from many pleasant sunny days, it takes several darker gloomy days to feel down again. Same principal. So the measurement in physics of speed, may not be as accurate as each individuals ability to recognize when light stops reacting on the brain , for that is when darkness begins.

The speed of Darkness is the speed of light in the negitive. Since darkness is the absence of light, it's a negitive preportion to the light which it follows or succades. Darkness travels with light as the following aborbshion of energy, therfor must travel as fast as light, but in the negitive direction.

I am assuming speed of darkness is the same as the speed of light. Since its opposite of light. However, I am not sure. There is not such thing as speed of darkness.

light travels while darkness doesn't.darkness is just the absence of light.so maybe relatively speaking they are the same but in opposite directions because darkness would set in at the same speed with which the light moves away

There is no speed of dark because darkness dosnt travel. Darkness is the absent of light.

Dark is itself the abence of light energy. Therefore, darkness is there, but by the fact that materials absorbing and reflecting different colours mean that without the light energy, nothing ould have been visible. For example, sear red clothes and stand in a stream of red light. You'll see that your clothes will appear black. Next, ith the ame outfit, stand in a stream of hite light. You'll see that your outfit appears red.
Therefore, the dark cannot travel, but only light.

I asked my physics engineering professor the same question this last semester and he replied that it's opposite to the speed of light, basically it has the same speed as the speed of light (300000 km/s).
