the serial pin-outs should be? Is it simply 2 to 3, 3 to 2, and 1 to 1?

Also are there any AT commands that are required?

This will alow me to remotely access the system to make changes to software without actually going to the site.

Well, I would imagine the serial connection would be a DB-15.
