I get the whole "its faster than typing the whole word" thing but what I dont understand is why people want to sound so stupid & uneducated when they are communicating with the rest of the world?

They don't see the stupidity of it Spelling has really hit a major roadblock because people are graduating people from high school and college without knowing how to spell correctly. We're really going to lose out in this global economy because we won't be able to communicate with foreigners who learned English, but only if it's spelled correctly. We can sometimes figure out what someone is trying to write if they misspell something because English is our original language, but depending on spell checkers or not using them at all won't make things easy to understand by foreigners. The foreigners probably think of us as ignorant, just as you mentioned.
I get really annoyed by managers in our company who send out misspelled emails. They're supposed to be managers who know more than I do and make plenty more money than I do and they can't even care enough to spell properly.
Unfortunately in our speedy society of text messaging and emailing, spelling properly is going to become a lost art. I'm afraid we're going to be the losers.

No, even even as human beings yawn i do not. i opt to play a recreation with my acquaintances the position someone will yawn and we talked about who yawns first. I under no circumstances many times win until eventually i'm ill with a chilly because i'm getting so drained that is as if I stayed up an total week with a wink of sleep.

Oh man, Girl...you and I are on the same sheet of music! People using those 'instant message' or 'text message' abbreviations in everthing they write, drives me insane! How much harder is it to type 'you' than 'u'. It makes me shudder to think what their resumes look like and the kind of job they'll be able to get...and keep, if they try writing like that in business communications!

I guess they thinks it's cool. I think it's stupid, and that they look like they're in 3rd grade. I just ignore them.
