I go through their drawers and play with the ear scope and blood pressure machine. I also steal cotton swabs and band aids.... and play a game on my cell phone. I hate it when they make you wait forever.
You can get away with it because they always knock becfore they come in.

Get a scratch pad and write down what you need to ask the doctor.. That is what the long time in the little room is for ... If you do not make notes you will not remember all the complaint you have ...and why you come to see the doctor in the first place. If you have time left you can look at the walls

First you count the tiles on the floor, then count the tiles on the ceiling, then divide one into the other to get the ratio of floor tiles to ceiling tiles. Next, think of your favorite movie or TV show and act out every character very loudly so the other people in the office can hear you. Or act like you're in jail and shout out to your neighbors in the other rooms to see if they're as bored as you.
The doctor and his staff could just be playing a big joke on everyone by putting them in those rooms and leaving.

If it's a waiting room, talk to the other patients and steal all their best symptoms.
If it's an examination room, play with the equipment and make lots of noise. you won't wait so long for attention that way.

I read the little pamphlets about heart disease, diabetes, regular self breast exams, etc... and look at the posters on the walls about the hazardous effects of smoking ciggerettes, read magazines, look at myself in the mirror... hum... watch the clock... make all kinds of noises swooshing my butt around on that stupid paper on the bed you have to sit on... ya know.. whatever passes the time.

I tend to just look off in space, or pictures on walls, and try to find what i don't like/like about them. or that if this was my office how would redecorate it.
If your inside where they exam you, then... i play games on my phone and call people, and wonder whats behind the curtains, and whats in the locked up cases!
But, I think dentist office's are MUCH worse

Try to get there so i dont have to wait to long. Try watching the others in the room and figure out what they may have and if its worse than your illness.
