Much of this angst has to do with the heritage and stunning accomplishments of the English people in the past. From a barren island devoid of natural resources the Englishmen went out and by arms and better ways of doing things dominated the world for five centuries. These times are past and all that is left are the home islands and their proud heritage and traditions. Visit London, it reeks of heritage.

Becuase they care so much about soccer. And they have nothing else to celebrate. The Portugal game was a great game though, and it could have gone either way. At least neither of the teams cheated, like in the aussie italy game. See, I am happy with Portugal going through, even though I went for England, because either of them deserved it. Ricardo saved them, but with the Austrlaia game, that was like being robbed. THAT was the Italians cheating and they didn't deserve to win.

They forgot that their players should have played (which they didn't, they only stood there in the field).
Even the journalists, for God sake!!
I'm glad they lost and more glad that it was with Portugal.

I think they got what they deserved to tell you the truth - they played rubbish and they got put out with the rubbish - lol. We all know they were never going to win the world cup well in Scotland any way. Millionaire players who played worse than Sunday League players - at least their WAGs had a great time. Ah well never mind at least they have Steve McLaren to look forward too - lol. Man, they have got it bad - don't you think! C'mon Andy Murray, I'm with you - lol - I think the whole thing has been so funny.

because we deserved to do well and seem to be held back by ridiculous managerial decisions.
i think the argentine ref was jsut sore cos his team got knocked out.
because at least we don't DIVE! and cheat to try and win
and the game started in england anyway and we're the ones that care most about it, of course we will be upset if we lose
oh and btw no football fan is a football fan if they call it soccer.

They're sore no matter what situation they're in...Obvioulsy when they're defeated they get worse...They're too full of themselves because history has always been on their side, and its a blow to their ego when things dunt go ther way, or other countries succeed for a change...Or perhaps England's perma cloudy weather has something to do with their sour attitudes...Lol
