Water by nature is VERY relaxing. Kids like water because they like to explore EVERY texture. It's fascinating to watch the water run through your hands or make cool ripples. It's also one hell of a way to play outside in the scorching summer sun. It's not just kids, it's people in general.

For the same reason adults do too. It's fun, cool, and a wonderful part of nature. Kids splash the water in a bath and it splashes back, they love to see a jug being filled and they like to see the water poured. It's unpredictable -Waves on a beach move forward and splash, children can react with it. They get action from it.

Not all kids like water. Ever try to give one a bath? Some don't like it at all. However, my two boys loved bathtime and now as teenagers I can't get them out of the shower. And they love going to the beach to splash around. Don't know why but it's fun. I join them at the beach.

It's soothing to the touch. It flows through their fingers and the mystery of not being able to hold it. It's freedom with no limits. To this day, I love the water.

the water substance unconciously reminds children of being in the womb, which tends to be relaxing and quite comforting. when they play in water they remember, also unconciuosly, discovering their new appendages, feelings, etc.
that is why children love playing in water.

its just fun? im 16 and i just got back from a water gun fight.
but for little kids its something new for them. it looks wierd. its shiny and it moves wierd so they liek to wack at it and watch what they can do to it and like to feel it because it feels different.
little kids are facinated with things that are different
