You won't know until you see the "goods." I hear what everyone else is saying about the adam's apple, ya da ya da. You'll never be able to make that determination purely based on external traits, in many instances.
If you are attempting to know this person in an intimate way, establish the kind of rapport that you can literally ask. It depends on which direction you're coming from. Are you just trying to be nosy (if so, it's really none of your business), or are you trying to be a friend (in that instance, you'd want to obtain the trust of your friend), or are you trying to become intimately involved? If the case is the latter, I can see your need to know.

If a guy is a "shemale" and he really wants to pass, he has to observe female behavior...not act like an imitation woman. I've seen alot of guys pull this off effortlessly and it has to do with their attitude and positive energy. They are sure of themselves and have studied their craft. I admire them...and I'm a woman!

It depends on the shemale--depends whether they have had partial surgery to shave their adam's apple, depends if and how long they have been on hormones, depends on their body type.....too many variables to give a definative answer.....

look a the throat, men have an adams apple or lump onthe front fo the throat bit of a give away

for the most part its simple look at the adams apple, but some are tricky, good luck.
