John Terry is the only man for the job.
Why??
1. Hes a work horse.
2. Hes inspirational.
3. Hes tough.
4. Hes a great communicator.
5. He can get a few goals.

Has to be either Terry or Gerrard, both captains if their own clubs Chelsea and Liverpool respectively. Both have also led winning teams, which Beckham has failed to do.
Hmmm - will have to go with Terry. Too solid as a player and his performance is not as spasmodic as Gerrard, although the latter can be more spectacular.

Well my faves are Ashley and Rio....but I know very little about football (I just like their souls)
Seriously - I thought the one who acted as captain in Beckham's place during the match with Portugal was very good. You need sincerity, strength and gravitas to be the captain, and I thought he had it. Was it Gary Neville?
Sorry, I know I should know all their names.....it is a bit early in the morning for me.
I will miss Beckham!

Frank Lampard.
I would like it to be Rooney but he's not good enough and he throws to many temper tantrums.
Shame about Beckham. He was good
