Haha I've had this problem. The Fruit flies are born in the drains so your bleach in the drain was a good idea but not intense enough. What I had to do was before i left for work each day I would cover my drain with sticky fly paper and tap it down so no air could get in. As the flys hatch they will immediately fly up and stick to the fly paper. It will take a few days of this to get rid of them, but it worked for me.

I agree with the first answer. There is a reason they are there and it's quite possible it's not the drains!! Check around. A grape under the fridge or stove, a banana that fell down the cellar stairs, (hey! It happened to me!), just check. Also, under the garbage bag in the garbage can. It only takes a small piece of fruit.

To get rid of the fruit flies, mix 1 part vinegar to one part water and add some dish washing soap. Mix it up and put in a bowl next to the sink. It will catch and drown the flies. Change every couple of days.

the best way I have found is to start killing the breeding adults by pouring apple cider vinegar in a small bowls covered with plastic wrap and poke small holes in the top, placing them in the problem areas, they can't resist this and drown . Then pour bleach in your drains covering them with soaked bleach paper towels at night, this should take care of the young. Also clean affected areas well and place food sources in containers

Lots of times people forget they have potatoes in the cabinet and a rotten potato draws a lot of fruit flies. They have to be coming from somewhere, look around the kitchen.

Fruit flies only come around something that appeals to them to breed. If you haven't done so already, check out the drip pan under your refrigerator. And look behind counters and trash baskets (and in the garbage can) for any wet spots that they can breed. Also get some spray to kill the little bas-tards!

Keep at just killing them off. Be sure nothing near the area is out, somewhere you may have missed. Then just keep killing them. They die out pretty quickly.
