Earth has the power to attract all the things towards it. Its called as "Gravitational Force." Since Earth is a sphere, it has no up or down. A person standing at equator or poles, finds himself on the ground and sky above him.
Its just like all pieces of metal stick to the magnet 3 dimensionally. They are subjected to attraction of magnet. so all the pieces stick on wherever they are, up or down.
similarly, we are attracted constantly by earth, wherever we are, either at equator or poles. It avoids us from falling into the void.

Get a bucket of water and spin it around in a circle first around your body and then over your head and she'll see that the water doesn't fall out even when the bucket is upside down.
While this is NOT exactly a demonstration of gravity, what it is clearly is a vivid illustration of how gravity works. Your arm in this case is acting out the part of gravity and the bottom does NOT allow the water to fall off the earth, why? Because the center of the earth is where everything is pulled toward. There is no down except toward the center of the earth, in this case toward the bottom of the bucket. Good luck.

When people at the bottom of the earth think of this question they see you standing where you are and wonder why you don't fall off. So the answer is simple there is no bottom of the earth, as the earth is constantly spinning and at no point could anyone stand to fall off. Something called gravity holds us to the earth. If you try to jump off you go up in the air then come back down because that gravity pulls us back. We can fall down on earth but we cannot fall up or off.

The center of gravity for the earth is in the middle of the earth. To fall off the bottom of the earth would assume that the center of gravity is located somewhere below the earth.

we do not fall off the earth because of gravity.gravity is just a word to explain a phenomenon.if the earth,s rotation accelerated .we would all be thrown into space regardless of gravity. what keeps us glued to the earth is the force of the space (that the earth has pushed aside) trying to re-occupy the space that earth has occupied .an analogy would be to imagine a ball made up of rubber bands.an object is then inserted into the centre of the ball.this would increase the pressure at the centre, hence gravity!

The only thing I can come up with is using a magnet. Show how paperclips are drawn to the magnet from all sides. the explain that gravity, even though it's different, kinda works like the magnet. She will get the general concept

Maybe if you had an orange that represented Earth and raisins that represented people you could show her how the raisins fall off the orange with out gravity.. then if you have a pushpin handy you could stick it through the raisin and into the orange..the pushpin representing gravity... I am a pre- k teacher and sometimes getting creative works.

Gravity is the force of pull between bodies of mass. It is this pull that helps people stay put on earth and not float in space.

Gravity is like a magnet and we are like metal. So we sort of stick 2 the ground.
