Are you an idiot? just think of the capacity and capability of your child in the world if they are at least bi-lingual. If I knew whom you are, I would report you to the services because people like you should NOT be having children.

Yes this is America and I think he has that right. Although why he wants to turn away business is beyond me.
Now personally I would certainly have a hard time ordering in Chinese if I were in Hong Kong! Hopefully the Chinese people are more open about who they are willing to serve.

Yes. This is America. We shouldn't have to learn every language of every person that comes into our country. They should have to learn our language. We also should not have to "press 1 for English". It should be defaulted to English. Spanish speaking people should have to press a key for their language. I also should not have to choose English or Spanish on the ATM especially if I've already entered my ATM card and pressed English some other time before. The bank should know that I'm an American.

He has the right to be an idiot.

He has the right to refuse service to people. It's his business.

The controversy is driving people to his business.

There is no crime in being a moron. Just boycott his business and encourage others to do so. Heck, form a picket and stand outside his business protesting his idiocy.

It's a still a free country.

He's absolutely right. This is America, and people should order in English. It is his own private business, and he should be able to do whatever he wants.

It is a sad day when people call someone a racist for asking that people IN AMERICA please speak English in his establishment.

If I'm ever in Philly I will definitely go buy a cheesesteak from this man!!

He has every right to make this request. This is the United States of America and English is our language. I my great-grandfather could learn english when he came here from Denmark, then immagrants today can learn english. As far as being unfair to people from other countries, go overseas and try to ignore their local customs and languages. We would not be welcome.

If people don't like it, they don't have to go to Mr. Vento's business, do they? Of course it is ok. He is apparently willing to do without the business of those who are offended by it, which is a perfectly legitimate use of freedom.

I agree with him! People who come here should learn the language. I think it's bullsht that they are forcing our children to learn spanish starting in preschool! This is rediculous! This is America, and the people who want to live here should learn our language... not the other way around.

if someone doesn't have the respect to learn the language of the country their living in, they should be put into small shacks and beat with rubber hammers.or get the *** out.its not fair to the immigrants who have came here and worked hard to fit into our way of life.
