A little slow on the significance of that phrase.

At light speed we are just now able to see what happened long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. That is the point. The stars you see in the distance may be long gone by now.

I must disagree. Sometimes there is a BIT of crying in baseball. Especially involving the Red Sox. But I digress.

I always liked to think of Star Wars portraying an ideal world ... As the movies progressed (Empire Jedi etc) the world reverted back to a more primitive society (IE us)

Even if they were real, and they aren't, the folks of star wars are still in a galaxy far, far away. By the way, there is no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Bigfoot, or crying in baseball.

remember they are far far away the ods of them finding us are very small. Also even if they did find us who syas they would want to make contact with people as primative as us? Finally if you read the books at the time of the movies they were incapable of leaving thier own galaxy this does not mean that they did not later develop this technology however.

Maybe they are here but they have some sort of Prime Directive like in Star Trek which prevents them from interfering with world's that do not possess interstellar travel.

If you were advanced enough to create light drives and advanced mentally to be jedai would you want to visit a world where tehy live in their own polution, ignore the belives of others and think its ok to crisisize and even kill others for having different ideas from yourself.. I'd avoid the place if I could and go straight to alpha centauri where they have a better view of the nebulae

They missed the last turn at planet Mars and are know heading towards a big asteriod that will pull them in and make them crash. That or Darth Vader was waiting in the backround and sapped them.
