First:

8x + 3 = 10 - 2x You need to balance the equation and combine the like terms. So add 2x to each side

2x + 8x + 3 = 10 - 2x + 2x and combine

10x + 3 = 10 Now subtract 3 from each side

10x + 3 - 3 = 10 - 3 and combine

10x = 7 Now divide each side by 10

10x/10 = 7/10 and simplify

x = 7/10

Second:

4x - 3 = 5 - x Same process. Add x to both sides and combine and we get

5x - 3 = 5 Now add 3 to both sides and combine and we get

5x = 8 Now divide both sides by 5 and simplify

x = 8/5 or x = 1 3/5

8x + 3 = 10 -2x; So Add 2x to both sides
8x + 3 + 2x = 10 - 2x + 2x; simplify
10x + 3 = 10; subtract 3 from both sides
10x = 7; x= 0.7

4x -3 = 5 - x; add x to both sides
4x - 3 + x = 5 -x + x; simplify
5x - 3 = 5; add 3 to both sides
5x = 8
x=1.6

And then check and see if the answers actually work. Plug the values in and see if the two sides equal each other. The blonde idiot got hers wrong.

*8x+3=10-2x
8x+2x=10-3
10x=7
x=7:10=0.7
* 4x-3=5-x
4x+x=5+3
5x=8,,x=8:5=1.6
I 'm going to explain this, you have this equation
8x+3=10-2x
Well you must when you stay in this situation.Change the symbol.Look
8x+2x=10-3
Always the ''x'' stay left at the equal and the numbers what don't have any ''x'' must stay right. When you change the side you change the simbol(+or-).If the number have -2x you change the symbol and the side.
Finaly you solve the equation.
10x=7
x=7:10=0.7

8x + 3 = 10 - 2x
8x + 2x = 10 - 3
10x = 7
x = 7/10 = 0.70

4x - 3 = 5 - x
4x + x = 5 + 3
5x = 8
x = 8/5 = 1.60

you first want to get rid of the lonely whole numbers

8x + 3 = 10 - 2x

either subtract 3 from both sides or subtract ten from both sides.

8x = 7 - 2x

Then make sure the x is on one side (either subtract 8x from both sides or add 2x to boh sides)

8x +2x = 7 - 2x +2x
10x = 7

then get x by itself, divide both sides by 10

x=7/10

x= 0.7

doing the same with the second

4x-3=5-x
(adding 3 to both sides)
4x=8-x
(getting x on one side of the =)
4x+x=8-x+x
5x=8
(divide both sides by 5)
x=8/5 or 1 and 3/5

8x+3=10-2x, move 2x to the left changing sign and 3 to right
8x+2x=10-3
10x=7
x=7/10, or x=0.7
same rules for other one
4x+x=5+3
5x=8
x=8/5, or x=1.6

4x + x - 3 = 5
5x - 3 = 5
{Add 3 to both sides}
5x = 5 + 3
5x = 8
{Divide both sides by 5}
x = 8/5 or1.6

Ok, your first step is to move all the x's to one side of the equation so:
8x +3=10-2x

will become

10x + 3 = 10.

You then move all the number, the 3 and the 10, so they are only then same side.

10x = 7

Then divide the number by the amount of x's you have.

x = 0.7

Hope that helps you out. That's as simple as I can help break it down to.
