I want to buy an above ground pool but realized there are many different brands and each brand has different levels of pools available. What makes one pool more expensive than another considering they are the same size? Do I really need the more expensive one? How do I know if one brand it better than another?

Here is what WE considered. We have two kids..young..boys. So we went with a HUGE pool and got the strongest railing they had. We also put money into a deck up against the pool, because kids love to jump in, get out, jump in, get out. We wanted a pool large enough that dh and I could float, the boys could fight, and not be in our way. LOL If it's just you, or just a few adults, you don't need a 30 foot pool. Consider though, the top rail materials. Some get HOT HOT HOT. Ours is tough white plastic, cool to the touch. Some are metal! Don't get a blow up pool from walmart if you have kids or dogs. The motors in those blow out the first year, maybe the second. We also got the best stairs..crucial.

Consider the space you have to put it. Consider the uses you will have for it-- lounging, volleyball, etc. That will help you decide whether oval or round is best for your needs. As for brands and models--- a Kia costs less than a Rolls Royce. There is a reason for this. Buy the best you can afford. Don't buy a cheapie just because it's cheap. This is an investment. Make a wise, informed decision.

We bought a large one from Walmart last year for $300 and it is still holding up just fine. And best of all it was very easy to put up, no Assembly at all, but you do need a level spot to put it on. I would try something like this before I spent a lot of money, it may turn out that you won't even use it. If you want something better you can always sell the first one and move up to a better one.

I would look for the best warranty. Buy from a reliable dealership. Ask questions, the liner is the biggest expense to replace.

i have one for sale Katrine knocked it down
the best to get would be a 18 round has enough room if you never put one up before its best to go with a pool place that does it cause the first one we tried to put up was a very hard to do.
