The universe is mind, not-mind and the combination of the two, mindnot-mind. That would be the logically correct answer based on the question you have asked.

This is solipsism and the Wikipedia article makes thoughtful reading. I find it curious that so many of us hold this belief and that, like the argument for God, the argument for a unified consciousness (mind) cannot be proved or disproved. I don't know if there's anything in the universe except mind.

Basically there was infinite time.. if you wait for an infinite period and do nothing mathematically something must happen.. infinity times zero = one.. therefore it was inevitable that the universe would occur initially this was just pure energy which somehow arranged itself into matter but there is belief that some energy remained as pure energy which in monotheistic religions we call our god (some as Taoists and bhuddist believe we are all a small part of our own god)..

as matter and energy are interchangeable they can both exist together or exclusively then in balance again. and the natural state of anything is to be in balance and in existence...

The universe existed long before mind.
Likewise, the Earth existed long before humans ever did.

Now minds and various types of consciousness exist, all owe their existence to the universe and its development.

All mind and consciousness will eventually vanish, but the universe will continue.

Disclaimer: I could be mistaken, since I am only a mind(-body).

it is all in the mind, sweetiekins. the mind makes it all up. actually there is no universe. there is only mind. and in the mind, you live. and since there is no universe, you actually are not there. so if you're not there at all, I have nothing to worry about for this crappy answer LOL!

Mankind is far too self indulgent and self centred. If the human race went extinct tomorrow the universe would continue just like it existed 13.7 billion years before our evolution.

Think space/time continuum...without a mind perceiving time, all that's left is space.
Here's how I came to this conclusion: Time is relevant as Einstein said, so if no mind perceives time, it does not exist. Which would only leave empty space.

The mind is a kind of receiver. The universe is a kind of transmitter. If you remove either one of them, there is nothing.
One needs the other.

Well what do you believe?

Theoretically we could all just be a big part of the BV theory (Brain in the Vat - like the Matrix).
