A reenactment of The Lord of the Rings for our wedding. The story (in the movie) regarding Arwen and Aragorn is amazingly similar to our love story. So our wedding was more like a skit.
Our children dressed as Hobbits, my husband and I (of course) dressed as Arwen & Aragorn. Our officiant was dressed as Elrond. I handmade all of our costumes... this way very hard for me as I honetly could not sew a pillow case! I also handmade all of the invitations in elvish script.
It was very special that my dad helped me to make the flag that Arwen walked with before meeting with Aragorn. We went on a walk together and found the perfect tree branch from the woods and wrapped it in vines with the flag hanging down the center.
My husband's brother handmade Arwen's butterfly crown and I did all the beadwork myself. We saved all these special items.
We never actually exchanged rings because we chose to have special family and friends to form a circle (our ring) and they are our "Fellowship of the Ring"... they help us through the tough parts of our marriage.
It was so symbolic and special. We also went to a Medieval Village and had a private banquet. They sang to us and told us jokes... it was like a dream come true. ♥

I used my imagination and was actually able to improve the tiny bit of this world that my family inhabits. It took about two years of imaginative power, but it worked, and I think our lives have improved greatly because of it.

my b/f and i went to a reclusive spot a yr. ago w/ a canvas and body paint. use ur imagination. the painting hangs in our living rm.
