Getting the number and actually calling it is different. But when either partner starts thinking of straying its time to rethink things. Because if its truly love nothing can conquer it.

I dont' think it has that much to do with "time" as it is the person you choose, and the way you work at the relationship.

I think whether the marriage is over is up to the person who was cheated on.....if they can handle rebuilding the relationship. Lots of marriages have suffered multiple affairs, and survive and even get better after the couple gets counseling. If there is an affiar, (which getting phone numbers is a red flag), then there is a problem in the relationship. If you both fix the problems and focus on makign the relationship better, then you can go on to have a wonderful faithful relationship. If phone numbers is all that's happened, use this as your early warning sign that you're in trouble and things need to be fixed instantly. Sometimes, people's spouses cheat and the other spouse can't handle it and it ends......OR the person who cheated won't change and the marriage ends. If both people want it to truly work, it can work.

The chances of your man doing this, no matter how long your relationship, depends upon one thing. Your relationship with him. If he loves you and can't imagine being with anyone else he will not get other girls numbers and he will be very faithful.

You must understand all men are different. Every relationship is different. So finding the answer for you here may not happen.

You ask for life experiences. I was married to one woman for 37 years. Early in our marriage...unknown to me...my wife had several affairs. I found this our many years latter and it devastated me. I had had my own opportunities but never considered them because what I thought I had I didn't want to loose.

If your relationship is good. You still laugh with each other, have great sex with each other, you show him how much you love him in every way it is very unlikely he will do what you say.

But if you do none of these, especially the sex, for what ever reason, it is possible he will do this. It makes him feel wanted. Only he can tell you if he would ever follow up.

Be sure that you love that man your with very much and insist that he shows you that he does and you will be fine. If you have doubts about your love he will know it. This may be one way of handling it.

My first wife did not. She hung in there all those years because it was financially prudent for her to do so. Why I did I will never know.

Don't let that happen to you.

It depends on the individual person. It could be asked about both husband or wife. I've been told another women wants what another woman has. Other factors could include how attracted the man or woman are to the opposite sex. There are men who are faithful in marriage, and relationships, just like woman. Just hope they are honest enough to tell you everything they do. This is about long term relationships too.

I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 24YRS NOW. My husband has never been unfaithful to me, even when I left a few times.

Definetely a man that loves his wife does not need other girls numbers. Not at all. And yr loving spouse will not do that. And uncaring one not so in love with you and one that is selfish will hve many girls numbers or at least a few. It maks them feel better, because having many women to some men makes them have in their eyes higher self esteem. They dont know it, but thats why they have to be conquerors of women, they think one is not enough and they can take on the world.

My husband has had plenty of chances to go out on me. And never has. And that is a relief. But he is very Christian, he knows his rules, he follows God's commandments to the tee, and he is a very caring righteous person.

So if you think things are not working out in yr love field, find yrself a man a Christian man that is good from his heart out. There are very good men who are Christians.

if your man is cheating, give him a chance though, if things dont get better then set a deadline for you to decide whether to separate and divorce or not.

But dont think the grass is greener on the other side. IT NEVER IS. BELIVE ME. IT JSUT GETS WORSSE SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR A LONG TIME. People many respect you, but men dont.

Some men can be the meanest to you, and so its also a zoo out there. Why waste what you've invested already in yr own relationship? If he needs spice add it for him.

But if he is cheating on you and hurting you , dnt continue in that relation unless you know that he will change as so will you.

Good luck.

I have been in a relationship for 7+ years. It is such an ego boast to be asked for or be given a number. The best sex I have ever had was after a night out with friends, coming home with a number in my wallet and waking up my partner. (I threw the number out the next day). It makes you feel desireable, and after 7+ years, whatever boost your esteem is a plus. Use is as foreplay.

The question you need to ask is why did he do it? Men have to feed their egos for a number of reasons. I am not saying that is necessarily bad in most cases. I would ask him why he has another woman's number and go from there. I have been married for 6 years and we have had to go to counseling for different things. It does help get rid of negative feelings.

Don't be afraid to ask. If you never ask, you will never know. If you want your marriage to last, be honest with each other.

I have been with my wife for almost 9 years now. I have no desire to get another womens number because in my past experiences with dating before my wife, no other women can compare to what I have at home. Sexually or emotionally. The longer I am with her the less I could imagine being with anyone else.

Good question.......My husband and I have been together 7 yrs, BUT, this is not our first marriages, and somewhere along the line we seemed to have accumulated knowledge of being in a long term relationship..... AHHA......learning from our pasts has definately made some differences.....like.... life is too sort to fight and argue about the petty things in life..........and such a waste of good positive energy...and when we get real sick of each other......oh it happens!......we get away from each other....I usually make plans to take a trip to visit the grandbaby hundreds of miles away...... when I return I'm feeling so happy to be.......... "Home"...................
"Home is where your Heart is"..........and.......
"We" always pay attention to our blessings....OH yeah
one more tidbit............................
TALK to each other ....
its a great way to listen to the other's emotional craziness.......

I dont think there is a "Perfect mate" for each of us.....just a growth that teaches us what we are willing to deal with on a daily basis........Think LOVE............it makes us smile

I think that men have a problem!!!!! I believe that they might get a number or something after a long relationship or marriage just to prove to themselves that they still can. Does not mean that they will use it.
